​On Saturday, December 14, 2019 the Pure Justice Executive Director, Sasha Legette was recognized by the Texas Organizing Project as a Community Champion for her undeniable, relentless commitment to the communities of Harris County. She is hyper-focused on being solutions oriented and driven by community needs which are core values to the organization she leads. Pure Justice is known for it’s hashtag #createchange and that’s exactly what the Pure Justice ED has in mind for 2020. This year she applied for and recently completed the Small Business Training Program at the Emancipation Economic Development Council because she and the Pure Justice team has decided to launch a business focused on hiring locally, paying living wages, and offering second chances. These efforts were recognized and applauded by the City of Houston’s Mayor, Sylvester Turner.
